MS Word is a word-processing application that can perform very basic mail
merges. Printimate™ is an easy to use, powerful, visual variable data document
design and printing software application. Printimate™ is used to create highly
personalized direct mail / marketing documents. The following is a brief list of
some of the functions and features supported by Printimate and not supported by
MS Word:

No, Printimate™ was specfically designed to be easy to use, no programming
skills are required to use Printimate™! Printimate™ uses a WYSIWYG visual editor
for document design. Printimate™'s built in logic / merge engine and intuitive
wizards do all the complex work for you. Even novices can create complex
documents within minutes of installing the software. |

Yes you can reuse previously created documents or document templates to create
new documents. To resuse an existing document click on it and drag it into the
new document. To use a template browse to the template folder and open a
template. To create your own templates, design the document and when completed
save it to the shared template folder. The document is automatically converted
to a read only template file that can be reused in any new project. In addition
Printimate™ allows the user to save “User Defined” variables and conditional
statements to a common shared library folder. They can be imported and reused in
new projects, saving time and increasing productivity |

The "Avalanche Add-On Software" was designed for users who already own Jet
Letter software but don't want to invest the time required to learn it's
proprietary script language or who just want an faster, easier way to create new
documents, increase their productivity and or reduce training costs. Avalanche
is a complete windows based document design solution that enables users to
quickly and easily create new jobs or open, modify, preview and print existing
Jet Letter jobs without having to write any scripts.
Avalanche's document editor (Jedit) allows the creation, editing of new or
existing letter scripts or the cutting and pasting of content from Word or other
windows programs. Avalanche's automated task wizards and drop down menus create
the scripts for the user. In addition Avalanche allows the user to easily
incorporate color graphics (BMP,JPG,TIF,GIF etc.) into their documents. The
Avalanche software is compatible with windows 2K, XP and Vista. Avalanche has
been tested with Jet Letter Version 4.X and 6.X. |

Yes you can create, open and modify MS Word documents (Doc or Docx) directly
from the Printimate™ Visual editor. You can also drag the MS Word documents
directly into the Printimate™ Editor window. Printimate™ will retain the MS Word
formatting , layout and fonts including tables. Printimate is MS Word compatible
does not use or require the MS Word software. |

Yes you can place a box over some or all of the content of a PDF source document
and insert your own content, variables or images overtop. The box color is white
by default but it and the can be set to any RGB color or to match the PDF
document background color. |

AE Solutions strongly recommends that you install the upgrades / patches as they
are made available. The upates and patches not only contain the latest features
and fixes, but they ensure your software continues to remain compatible with
Microsoft and other major vendor's hardware and software. |

On startup Printimate verifies the intergity of all the files and software
componets placed on the on the clients hard drive during the installtion
process. If Printimate detects any of the files are missing or corrupt it will
repair / reinstall the missing files or components. This normally only occures
if files are accidentaly deleted or damaged by a virus or system crash. |

Yes, you can insert static or variable content including text, variable data or
images into PDF source documents. Text can be inserted with a solid or
transparent background. This allows text to be placed over graphics / images
without obscuring the background image in the PDF source document. |
|

PrintiMate™ supports two types of tables, “Static” and
“Variable”.
Static Tables: The number of rows and columns are set by the user and do not
change. Variable Tables: The number of columns and data variables are defined by
the user, but the number of rows are determined by PrintiMate™. PrintiMate™
determines the number of rows required for each table based on the Key field and
the number of matching records. If the table breaks across a page, the table
header is automatically carried over to the new page.

Creating tables is a snap. Just place the cursor when you want the table in the
document, click on the table button, enter the number of rows and columns
required and click on OK. The table is automatically inserted into the document
at the current cursor position. |

Yes, tables can modified or resized with the mouse by clicking on the column and
dragging it to the desired width, much the same as you would in Excel. The can
also click on the table and with the right mouse button and select "table
properties" and modify the setting. |

Yes, you can insert tables, within tables within tables. No programming is
required, just place the cursor in the table cell where you want to insert the
nested table and click on the table button. You will be prompted for the number
of rows and columns and the nested table will be inserted into the current table
cell. Each table has its own individual properties. |

Yes, Printimate can auto scale the font size so that the defined content /
variable(s) will fit within a fixed width. This feature is frequently used to
prevent long names or address from over printing the allocated space on pre
printed forms. Using the intial font size as a based Printimate will analizes
the defined content to see if it fit the defined space, if it doesn't Printimate
will scale the font size down until the content fits within the defined space. |

PrintiMate™ will auto warp the content between the table cell margins, if it
exceed the cell width creating. Printimate will automatically create as many new
rows as are necessary to accommodate the content. Printimate will automatically
flow the table on to a new page as required unless the table break option is
selected. |

Yes PrintiMate™supports nested tables. Each nested table and table cell retains
it’s own individual properties. Each table and nested table cell supports,
static or variable content including conditional statements and graphics. |

Yes PrintiMate™supports an unlimited number of parallel columns in either the
portrait or landscape mode. Printimate also supports frames (lines) around or
between the columns. Printimate also supports unique background and text colors

simplex or duplex or mixed format within the same document as long as it is
supported by the active printer. |

The user can only select paper trays that actually exist on the currently

driver. In order for PrintiMate™ to support this functionality it must also be

Yes, PrintiMate™ supports printing to multiple printers, but this feature is
version dependant. Printimate seperate the print streams by batch, i.e. (Batch
#1 is streamed to the first printer while Batch#2 is streamed to the second
printer etc.) All the selected printers must be must be licensed or must be
compaitble with the same print driver. |

JEPG, PDN, PNG, TIF,TIFF, WMF) |

Printimate allows the user to reuse job(s) by copying them to a new folder with
a new name. Conditional statements and user defined variables can be saved and
reused by exporting them to a share folder or content library. They can be
imported into a new job without having to redifine them. Primary and scondary
document can also be reused by draging or coping them into the new folder.
Printimate also supports reusable tempates and style sheets. |

How is Printimate Supported, is there an annual support

Printimate provides unlimited end user support that can be accessed by email,
telephone or online through the web. The costs of the email, telephone and web
support are included in the annual license, maintenance and support agreement
(LMS). Onsite support and consulting services are also available at an
additional cost. In addition to unlimited support the LMS also includes free
software upgrades and maintenance patches. All versions of the Printimate
software have an annual LMS except for the Printimate PayGo software. Support
for the PayGo software is purchased in prepaid 3 hour blocks. The LMS is renewed
annually on the anniversary date of the purchase of the software. |

Yes Printimate supports relational databases. Click on the Data Tab and tell
Printimate how the databaes are related by selecting a common index field. Once
done Printimate can access the data in both databases. |
|
|
|
|
|
Yes, Printimate supports multiple data formats including “Fixed Field” data
files. Printimate loads the first record of the data file and displays it as one
contiguous string. The user is prompted to define the width of each field. Once
complete the complete record with each defined field is displayed. If correct
the user can save the data mask for formatting future fixed filed data files or
just click on OK and Printimate will create a new formatted data file and set it
as the active database. Printimate never modifies the original data file. |

Yes, Printimate can pull / load data files from a remote SQL server. Printimate
supports Windows or SQL User Authentication. Printimate can run queries or
stored procedures on the SQL Server as well as extract the data to the working
database. |

Yes Printimate supports stored SQL procedures as long as they are
compatible with the Microsoft Sequel Server 2005 or later.
|

|

Yes Printimate has a built in function that can convert the case of
content or data variables to" UPPER CASE", "lower case", "Sentence case" or
"Proper Case". Printimate can even convert hyphenated names to Proper Case.

Yes Printimate can eliminate the leading space when a record has no suffix with
the trim function or conditional statement.
